Lon Hannah - Grand Marshall

Lon Hannah was raised in Ivanhoe and Visalia.  He attended Ivanhoe School and Redwood High School.  He played trombone in band for four years of high school and sang in the choir as a junior and senior.  In addition to his music classes he played football and baseball and was a starter on the 1973 Redwood Football Valley Champions.

Lon comes from a musical family and was inspired and encouraged to sing and play the trombone by his dad, Joe, and Uncle Jack Hannah.

Beginning in 5thgrade at Ivanhoe, Lon was taught by dedicated and talented music educators, including Ed Lagrutta at Ivanhoe, Wally Engstrom and Lonnie Manning at Redwood, and Ritchie Cendenon, Larry Sutherland and Dorothy Renzi at Fresno State.

Since 2000 Lon has taught on the Music Team for Visalia Unified School District, introducing 4th, 5th and 6th graders to the joys of music.

Lon, along with his dad, Joe, and Uncle Jack, make up the Sons of the San Joaquin.  They have traveled throughout the world bringing cowboy music to thousands.  Every year they volunteer to perform for our Visalia 4th graders where they sing a collection of original songs about California.
