Robert "Bob" Cary - Grand Marshall

Since 1967 Bob Cary has been a Visalia resident, restaurateur, and valued member of our community.  Along with wife, Karen, and children, the Cary’s became synonymous with A & W Drive In franchises; owning and operating them in Visalia, Tulare, Hanford and Exeter and using their business success as a springboard to local involvement.

Bob has a list of corporate awards a mile long, as well as being an honored member of the COS Hall of Fame.  He has at various times been involved with Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees, Elks, Downtown Visalians and Alliance.  The Cary’s philanthropic causes include:  Friends of the Fox, Boys & Girls Club, COS Foundation, The Creative Center, Events Visalia (producers of the Visalia Waiters Race), Pro Youth / Heart Programs, CASA, The Enchanted Playhouse, Boy Scouts, Tulare County Symphony, Wish Upon A Star, The Cancer Fun Run, Chamber of Commerce Building Fund, YMCA, and various school programs throughout the area.

With this kind of dedication to community betterment, it is easy to see why Bob Cary was chosen to be honored as Grand Marshall of this year’s Visalia Invitational Band Review.
