4-A2 District Governor Betty Morris
Lion Betty was born in Arkansas and came to California as an infant. She graduated from Lemoore High School and resided in that little town before moving to Washington. She came back to California in 1974, met and married Lion Dean. She and Lion Dean will celebrate their thirty-third anniversary this November and have four children and seven grandchildren.
She was a charter member of the Charter Oak Lionsess Club / Lions Club, which just celebrated its twenty-fifth year. She is currently a member of the Visalia Sunset Lions Club. She has received two 100% President Awards, Lion of the Year twice, a Harry J. Aslan Fellow, a Melvin Jones Fellow, and an International Extension Award.
Lion Betty has held many positions at the club level, and has been both a Zone and Region Chair. She is a Graduate of Seniors Leadership institute, a Certified Guiding Lion, and a Life Member of Lions Eye Foundation. She has served on the Student Speaker Committee, Constitution & Bylaws, and the Board of Directors for Kases 4 Kids. She was the district's chaplain for three years. She has sponsored five Lions, one of which is her daughetr Lion Victoria, who is the Immediate Past President of Visalia Sunset Lions.
Lion Betty was a teacher with the Visalia Unified School District for fifteen years, having just retired in June. She has a bachelor of Arts as well as a Master of Education from Fresno State University. She is looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren and Lion Dean now that she is retired. The coming year will be a busy one being your District Governor. She is excited and honored to be District 4-A2's leader for the 2008-2009 year.
